FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING (INTERMEDIATE)

INTRODUCTION
This Program will further enhance and develop financial accounting background. It will also build on the introduction to accounting Program to satisfy the ultimate goal of the people who is seeking Financial Accounting proficiency.

OBJECTIVES

To assist in preparing staff to develop their accounting background
To provide the accounting tools required for decision making.

Background
Review of the Financial Accounting Cycle
Investments: - Trading - Available for Sale - Held to Maturity
Acquisition & Disposition of Fixed Assets
Intangible Assets
Serial Bonds
Debt Restructuring
Dilutive Securities
Accounting for Changes
Error Analysis

PRE-REQUISITE
Successfully completed Introduction to Finacial Accounting Program or equivalent Program in Financial Accounting.

METHODS
Lecture-discussions and exercises.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Bank staff who meets the prerequisite

LANGUAGE
The Program material will be provided in English while lectures will be presented in both English and Arabic.

DURATION
The Program will be conducted for 7.5 weeks (Twice weekly). Sessions will be held from 5.00pm - 8.00pm plus 2 hours for the final exam.
