Kuwaiti Graduates Development Program

An initiative of the Central Bank of Kuwait that aims to further the banking sector’s contribution to the development of young Kuwaiti graduates, this program targets fresh university graduates to place them and train them to be high flyers in the Kuwaiti banks. The practical and rigorous one-year program is carefully designed to lay the foundation for starting a banking career at an officer level. The main components are:

• In-class training: that comprises a group of integrated core and specialized competencies needed for banking careers
• E-learning: courses that aim to support the in-class training by providing prerequisites and addressing certain competencies that are not included in the in-class training.
• Local field training: this will take place in the Kuwaiti banks at selected intervals to create opportunities to apply what will be learnt during the in-class training
• International field training: this will take place in international banks to provide a global perspective and exposure to international banking practices

Financial Awareness Project: "Financial and Banking Highlights TV Program"

A community development initiative of the IBS Chairman of the Board, the Financial Awareness Project aims at promoting responsible, rational and well informed financial practices within the population of Kuwait to help achieve prosperity as well stability and financial and social security among individuals and families. The first phase of the project was planned and implemented during this year 2010-2011. The product was a TV program titled "Financial and Banking Highlights".

The program consisted of 16 episodes and was aired during October 2010 - January 2011. Episodes covered topics including: Loans, Credit Cards, Stock Market, Deposits, World Financial Crisis, Money Management, Money Laundering, Internet Transactions and CiNet.

An evaluative research was conducted to assess viewership, satisfaction with the program and its impact. The research also provided actionable knowledge for future programs. The program will continue next year with upgrades based on the recommendation of the research.
