IBS DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

Dear Colleagues,
 
We are very proud to present our website in its new look to our valued visitors. Our aim is to highlight the activities of the Institute of Banking Studies and its wide range of services offered to the banking community, financial and non-financial institutions. Through these activities we aspire to render the most efficient services to IBS patrons.

We will be sharing with our visitors information on how they can maximize the benefits of using the numerous, unique and state-of-the-art services which the IBS offers. These services are comparable with those offered in similar international institutions.

We are pleased to announce that the IBS has adopted a new strategic vision and mission and set priorities for the next decade of its developmental phase. This vision stems from the requirements of the local banks and will offer high standard of services to the banking community and other institutions. In doing so, it places its customers at the top of its list of priorities.

It is worth noting that the IBS has managed to accomplish a number of crucial projects. Amongst these was obtaining the international accreditation and recognition of the ifs School of Finance, UK, for the Certified Bank Branch Manager (CBBM) Program offered by the IBS. The IBS also managed to launch a new accredited Certificate in Islamic Banking & Financial Services. We shall also continue to offer other prestigious certificates including the Certificate in Credit Management (CCM) and the Certificate in Investment Management (CIM).

To keep abreast of modern trends in the international arena, the IBS is currently establishing affiliations with top-notch international institutions. As such, the IBS will shortly be offering an Executive Leadership Training program addressed to top management in the banking sector. Our aspirations are profound as we shall also offer to the banking and financial community MBA programs as well as banking and finance professional education programs at postsecondary diploma and bachelor's degree levels.

Considering IBS is the banking and finance institution in Kuwait, we are planning to extend our services to meet the needs of private and government organizations from within the financial sector as well as other sectors. This will enable a large base of clientele to benefit from the specialized know-how available within IBS and will maximize on our role as a national institution.

The IBS has also succeeded in concluding a number of ‘Memoranda of Understanding’ with local reputable institutions, such as the Kuwait Institute for the Advancement of Science (KIFAS) and the Manpower & Government Restructuring Program.

Believing that developing human resources should be a priority list, we have upgraded a number of IBS systems & processes to help us improve the quality of our staff with the aim of helping them deliver the best service to the banking community, financial institutions and the public.

We sincerely hope that the IBS website will help you get acquainted with our diversified facilities. We look forward to serving you at IBS in the foreseeable future.
