FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I apply for any Program or course?
This is done through the Human Resources Department or Training Unit of your bank/organization.

What is the maximum number of participants in a Program?
Depending on the nature of the subject matter, IBS can accept up to 25 in a class room and 20 in the computer laboratory.

What is the maximum number of participants a member bank may nominate?
Given the restrictions on places this may be logistically limited to 2 to 3, but if any bank/banks nominate(s) less, then these places are open to other banks.

What are the criteria for selecting participants?
Simply fulfillment of 'Target Audience' criteria specified for each program. If over subscribed then nominees are ranked.

How many 'In-house' Programs is a member bank allotted each year?
Subject to approval of budgets, normally 2/3.

What if a bank wishes to arrange additional 'In-house' Programs i.e., above 2/3?
A number of factors have to be considered. Basically each situation will be assessed separately, but as far as possible the IBS will seek to work with the bank in meeting its needs.

What is the minimum number of participants required for an 'In-house" Program?
Depending upon the subject matter normally 16 but the IBS is flexible in this matter.

What can my bank do if it wishes to run an 'In-house' Program but there are insufficient staff to meet the minimum criteria?
Tell the IBS who will discuss the matter with other banks to see if a joint program can be arranged. This Program will still be allocated to the original bank.

Where can I find information regarding the IBS and its activities?
Information is available from the IBS website http://www.kibs.org

How do I access the Institute's library facility?
