INTERNATIONAL COMPUTER DRIVING LICENCE (ICDL)

This curriculum introduces the leaner to the basic physical make-up of a personal computer and covers some of the concepts of Information Technology (IT). The participants will learn some of the technical, practical, security and legal issues associated with computers and prepare to sit the related exam
 
This curriculum consists of 7 Modules

OBJECTIVES
To equip participants to pass the exams related to

CONTENTS OF 7 MODULES

Identify the characteristics of hardware, software, and information technology (IT)
Identify the characteristics of LAN (Local Area Network) and a WAN (Wide Area Network)
Identify the features of telephone networking in computing
Identify the features of electronic mail (e-mail)
Identify the characteristics of the Internet
View basic system and desktop configuration information
Recognize the different parts of a desktop and an application window
Identify ways to manipulate desktop and application windows
Identify the way to view a folder and file details and attributes
Create a memo by using a template
Adjust the page magnification of a document
Modify the default toolbar display
Create an Excel workbook
Edit an existing worksheet
Open several workbooks
Formate cells to display different number of styles
change the text size in selected cells in a worksheets
Center the cells content in a range
Identify the available datebase objects and views
Identify the guidelines for planning a database
Create a database table with fields and field attributes specified
Create a simple form
Find a record based on a given criteria
Filter data in a form
Open several existing PowerPoint presentations
Edit an existing PowerPoint presentation
Identify the guidelines for differentiating between different output formats
Identify the features of navigation
Identify the different search engines and how they can be used to find information
Identify the features of search operations and keywords

METHODS
Lecture-discussions, exercise, case analysis, group work and mock exam.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The intended audience for this series of Modules is the end users (non-IT). The participants/exam/ candidates will be involved in office duties and would like to use a
